Hi Everyone! It’s Eliza from Pie Bar Marietta and today I'll be interviewing one of our Woodstock Front of House Team Members, Madison Jones.
Madison is an Advanced Team Member and has been with us for almost a year now! If you have visited Pie Bar Woodstock, you've likely experienced her bright aura fill the shop with joy.
Eliza Craft: What brought you to Pie Bar?
Madison Jones: I had knee surgery in the summer of 2020 and decided to take some time off from school. I was looking for something to do with my newfound time and saw that Pie Bar was hiring. My family have always been fans, so I was excited for the opportunity to become a part of the team!
EC: What do you like to do for fun?
MJ: Anything creative: singing, acting, writing, drawing, and reading. Anything that has an artistic aspect.
Note: Madison is often found with her head in a book during her lunch breaks!
EC: What’s your dream job?
MJ: Becoming an author or maybe being an actor. Really anything that allows me to be creative. Stephen King is a huge inspirational figure for me - both as an author and as a human being, he's just awesome.
EC: What would your dream role be if you did go into acting?
MJ: In the play "Over the River and Through the Woods" - I'd love to play the character Caitlin again. I had that role in the past, and it meant a lot to me, and would mean just as much to have the opportunity to play her again.
EC: Do you have any pets at home?
MJ: I have a black cat named Sirius Cat (like Sirius Black).
EC: What is your favorite pie?
MJ: I’d say it’s a three-way tie between Lemon Bar, Key Lime, and Peach Crumble!
EC: If you could bring any pie to Pie Bar for a Vault Release (one-day only) what would it be?
MJ: A remake of grandma's Chocolate Cream pie that she makes -- when we did it back in December I got excited because it reminded me so much of hers.
EC: What is an interesting fact about you?
MJ: I’ve met Cary Elwes (Westley in The Princess Bride) on two occasions and Neil Patrick Harris.
EC: ....How?!
MJ: Cary -- at DragonCon 2014, we stumbled upon his Meet 'N' Greet, and met him and he is an honest gem of a human being. Neil and his husband David -- in New York two summers ago. My mom and I were seeing Hadestown and they were sitting a couple rows in front of us, so we got to say hello!
EC: What's your favorite part about working at Pie Bar?
MJ: I really love the community. Not just with our guests, but with our team. Everyone is so happy and upbeat and fun to be around, so I always look forward to coming to work and seeing everyone.
EC: How long have you been working here?
MJ: Since August or September of 2020.
Make sure you say hi to Madison next time you stop by our Woodstock shop!
