Vivian El-Salawy: Tell me a little bit about yourself.
Antonio (Tony) Hunt: I grew up being home schooled in my family home in Minnesota, and then moved to Georgia midway through my childhood. I am on the Autism Spectrum, and I pride myself with my level of focus and attention to detail -- something that I apply to my passion projects, as well. I have a big family, including two sisters and three brothers. We are all so very close, and I love them dearly.
VE: So, what brought you to Pie Bar?
AH: My mom has been a big fan of Pie Bar for quite some time, and she’s wanted me to get a job for a while. Since I’d been taking care of her for a little while, she thought that I would be a great fit for a team like the one here at Pie Bar.
VE: What do you do when you’re not working?
AH: I love listening to music, playing video games, writing, reading, and watching a bunch of anime.
VE: Ooh, you are such a creative human! What is something that you have been working on recently, in terms of writing?
AH: One of my big projects has been a series called “One Minute Hero”, which is about a 13 year old boy who gets the ability to reverse time up to one minute, and it is about his road to becoming a hero, just like some of his favorite heroes.
VE: What is your dream job?
AH: My dream job is to become a psychologist.
VE: What drew you to the subject?
AH: I have always loved stories about heroes and helping people, and to me, that is a way that I feel I can help people. It may not be in the biggest way possible, but it is important to me.
VE: That is really neat!
VE: Alrighty, I have a quick change in topic: What is your favorite pie here at Pie Bar?
AH: My favorites are tied between the Peanut Butter Cream, and the Brown Sugar Chess Pie.
VE: Looks like you’ve got a rich palette.
VE: What is a random fact about you that only few know?
AH: I am also trying to become an artist as well as a writer, so that I can illustrate my own work.
VE: If you were on death row right now what would you ask for as your last meal?
AH: A plate of ham, with probably like..20 burgers on the side.
VE: Very specific.
VE: Do you have a favorite animal?
AH: My favorite animal is either an owl or a dog. It’s kind of a tossup between the two. I actually just got a new puppy. Her name is Diva Hope and we think she is a dachshund corgi mix.
VE: We LOVE Diva Hope.
VE: What’s been your favorite part about working at Pie Bar, so far?
AH: Getting to experience everything, working with my coworkers, and getting to know all of the community members that step through the doors each day. Also, I really enjoy picking pecans.
Next time you swing by the shop, come say hey to Tony!!
