Art Fair

Marietta Events in April

By: Abby A, Pie Bar Marietta

A great event to attend early on a Saturday morning is the Farmer's Market held here in the Square. Though, if food isn't your thing, there is also an Artisan Market where people get to show off their awesome artwork. There are plenty of vendors throughout the area and each have their own unique art style. The Artisan Market is held every Saturday, starting in March, from 9 am to 2 pm. If you're interested in both the Farmer's Market and Artisan Market, hit the Farmer's Market first (it ends at 12pm!) then head on over to the Artisan Market! These will be held every Saturday until it gets too cold. Check out the amazing creation of people in your community!

The Garden Fair will be hosted by the Cobb County Master Gardeners on April 19th through the 20th from 10 am to 4 pm. The event takes place in Miller Park. There, multiple vendors will be there to showcase their artwork, from handmade bowls to beautiful jewelry. There will also be many plants for sale, such as perennials and shrubs. They even mentioned having native azaleas, which are beautiful this time of year! I know for a fact I won't be buying any plants; I can't even keep a succulent alive. But for all you plant parents out there, go check out the selection!

The last event is the Marietta Art Walk hosted on the first Friday of each month, this month being April 1st. The event takes place whether it rains or shines, and it's from 5 pm to 9 pm. Here, guests have free entry to Cobb Museum of Art in their self-guided tour of local artwork and artists from the community. After your tour, you can choose from multiple places to dine-in or take-out for dinner. A few examples are Red Hare Brewery, Two Birds, Taqueria Tsunami, and Hawg's Ale House. For those teens and young adults out there who love boba, the Marietta Square also has Tiny Bubbles! Lastly, stop by Pie Bar for a delicious dessert!

There are many things to do during the month of "April Showers to bring May Flowers!" All of these events happen rain or shine, and there's a lot to look at! Take a peek at your schedule and find a weekend to spend in the Square!
