It's that time of the year when we say goodbye to the cold and a big hello to the heat! Summer is here in Georgia and it is more than welcome, there is something so terrific about feeling the refreshing nature of Summer! Of course, what would summer be without some fun activities to do over the summer? Well, you are in luck, as I have come prepared to deliver some useful info that should make your summer that much better! So kick back and relax, as I tell you all you need for this summer!
A Great Place To Hangout and Mingle!
I can think of no better place to enjoy summer in Downtown Woodstock, than the always lively Reformation Brewery! Reformation is a terrific and fun-loving place that is a great stop for all ages, that really gets you in that summer feeling! Of course with it being a brewery, Reformation has a diverse and terrific selection of drinks that is sure to please anyone who can partake in that! But drinks are not all they have as they have partnered with Queenie's BBQ, which has a delicious menu that anyone of any age can enjoy! They have a massive outdoor seating area, which is great to let your kids run around as well as enjoy that summer air! Reformation has been a go-to spot for anyone who loves to have a good time and relax, we here at Pie Bar have even gone there for Staff Retreats! It goes without saying but if you need a good place for the summer, Reformation Brewery is a great place to be!
A Place To Enjoy The Outdoors!
For me when I think summer, I want to be out and about and enjoy nature. So parks are must stop for me, and thankfully Dupree Park is a wonderful spot for that! Regardless if you are going solo or with family and friends, Dupree Park has got something for you! If you are someone who loves to feel the heat during summer, there are plenty of sports facilities that will get you working up a sweat as you get a great workout. If that is not your speed walking around Dupree is a fantastic time, as there are so many beautiful sights which include a pond that ducks frequent! For families there are two playgrounds for kids to run around and have a great time, all the while there are plenty of spots to set up a gorgeous picnic! (As a side note if you need a sweet treat for that picnic, we got you. *Wink Wink*) As you can see if you need a really nice spot for a walk or a nice day with the family, Dupree Park is a place to check out!
An Event To Make Memories!
If you are in need of a nice and exciting event to cap off your day, then the Woodstock Summer Series is the perfect event for you! What is the Woodstock Summer Series, well let me tell you! The Summer Series is when Downtown Woodstock hosts some truly amazing musical acts at the Northside Hospital-Cherokee Amphitheater, where they rock the night away and entertain all that goes! The great thing is they have a diverse roster of talent they are bringing, which is sure to stratify the music lover in us all! Best of all the concerts are completely free, so you are welcome to just pop in though if you are gonna stay I would recommend bringing some chairs! As you can see if you are looking for a memorable evening, the Woodstock Summer Series is absolutely the event for you!
Man oh man there is plenty to see this summer, and I have barely scratched the surface of all that is going on around Downtown Woodstock! ]]>Gabrielle: What made you apply to work at Pie Bar?
Barb: “ Oh gosh, true story I applied to a year previously and I saw a help wanted sign in the window but I sadly waited a little too long and the position had already been filled. What made me first apply was that pie has always been part of every great celebration within my family and I just came in the shop and loved it. I saw two years later that there was another help wanted sign and I thought heck yeah Imma try again so here I am! This is my favorite business in marietta square!”
Gabrielle: What’s your favorite pie here?
Barb: “Ooooo that is so hard. I think I have a favorite and then it changes as I taste something new. Um so I would say currently it is the Blueberry Buttermilk because I love blueberries, but prior to that it was the Brown Sugar Chess and it will probably change again as we’ll get new flavors to try!”
Gabrielle: Do you have a favorite movie?
Barb: “ I have four kids and I cannot pick a favorite, and so picking a favorite movie is the same way: I can not pick a favorite movie, but I can name a favorite. Whenever I need cheering up I go for Miss Congeniality or Legally Blonde. You just can’t be in a bad mood when watching those movies. [Laughs]”
Gabrielle: If you could have any superpower in the world what would it be?
Barb: “Oh gosh I would fly. Oh yeah. I think wings would be fun but it would be great to fly without them. I wouldn’t turn down wings but I think it would be cool without them.”
Gabrielle: Tell me your happiest moment
Barb: “Oh gosh, I have to say the four days that each of my kids were born. I mean I should pick my wedding day because without that my life story wouldn’t unfold, but I have to go with my children. They range from 33, 30, 27, and 23. I love having adult kids, I love seeing how they turn out, and how they are all interesting people. I get to see little pieces of myself and my husband within them. It’s cool, it's how we go on. ”
Gabrielle: Why did you move to Georgia?
Barb: “Um, I moved to Georgia from Chicago with my husband around 32 years ago and he took a new job here. We were in Chicago for only 16 months and we hated it. We could not live with the cold [ laughs]. We had moved to Chicago from southern California and we were like what have we done, and an opportunity came up in Georgia and we loved it. We came to look for houses and it was immediately home. We have been here to stay. Born in Ohio, moved to California, Chicago, and Georgia.”
Gabrielle: If you were on death row, what would be the last thing you would eat?
Barb: “What did I do to get on death row???? [laughs} Well this is my last meal oh no. Well through and through I'm a pizza girl, and it would have to be pizza. I would probably want Antico’s Pizza. I love everything about pizza. I would probably go pepperoni, black olives, mushroom, and sausage. I would probably go with wine as a drink option. For dessert you already know it would be the Pie Bar. Probably the Blueberry Buttermilk.”
Gabrielle: What is something you wish people knew about you?
Barb: “Well um I'm pretty good at sharing stuff about me, I mean it all usually comes out eventually [ laughs] the stuff I want people to know. I mean if I had to pick one thing for someone that doesn’t know me, it would be for them to know I really care. I really believe in treating people well. Everybody deserves to be treated well.”

]]>Hey there! This is your friendly neighborhood Pie Bar Marietta shop manager, Sam! Working at Marietta Square has been such a wonderful experience for me so far. The square has so much to offer and so many wonderful people to meet. So, I wanted to give y’all a breakdown of some of the local events and activities happening in Marietta square this March. Get ready to call a friend and update your calendars because March is going to be one fun month!
Calling all self-proclaimed geeks because we are starting March off with just the event for you. Marietta The Gathering is a festival taking place at Glover Park on March 4th celebrating all things geek culture and art. Throughout the entire day, there will be a multitude of activities and events that you can participate in. Tents will be set up down South Park Square hosting an array of tabletop gaming, card play, and video games systems. Local candy and soda shop Rocket Fizz will be doing a soda pop showdown where two teams will try their luck in guessing different soda flavors in a head-to-head blind-tasting challenge. Do you like to cosplay? Well, get your best costume ready because there will also be a cosplay costume contest where you get the chance to show off your creativity and win some fun prizes. Oh, and I can’t forget about the on-stage performances! There will be performances by classical violinist Catherine Strings, the geek-centric band The Garage, and also a bunch of stand-up comedy shows by local comedians. Whether you identify as a geek or you’re just bored and are looking for something to do, Marietta the Gathering is the perfect event for you to have fun, see cool art and meet some interesting people. The event is on March 4th from 10 am to 8 pm so if you’re interested in attending, stop by the square then and check it out!
Now, you probably already know that Marietta offers a plethora of different food options. From Sarah Jean's homemade ice cream to the Australian Bakery & Cafe’s vast variety of baked goods, you can never go wrong with getting a bite to eat at the square. So, you definitely can’t miss the Georgia Food and Wine Festival happening from March 23rd through the 26th. The festival will be happening at Jim R. Miller Park in Marietta and each day will have its own different food and drink themes. March 23rds will be showcasing the best food businesses and service providers in Cobb county. Cobb’s Life magazine will also be recognizing winners of a reader-decided contest that will highlight certain local businesses achievements and successes. March 24th will be an evening celebrating everything grilled, smoked, barbecued, and more. A wide variety of the best barbecue in the South will be available to taste from some of Georgia’s most renowned Pitmasters and chefs. You not only get all that delicious food but also live music, wine, beer, and spirits tastings! And that’s just the tip of the iceberg for the Georgia Food and Wine Festival. Each day will be filled with its own unique variety of food offerings, so bring a friend and get ready to explore all that Marietta’s food scene has to offer.
One of Marietta’s most historic locations is The Strand Theatre on Cherokee St NE. This iconic theater hosts a multitude of events from live shows to film festivals. And for this March, The Strand is doing all of that and more! On March 8th, the Strand is hosting an Indie Film Night where they will play an eclectic selection of independent films from local filmmakers and beyond. This is a great way for people to see a different crop of movies than the ones playing at the standard multiplex. Want to chill and listen to some jazz after a long night at the square? Well, The Strand has you covered on March 5th with a Jazz night! This night will be dedicated to highlighting Dave Brubeck and his best-selling jazz album, “Time Out”. If you’re looking for a calm night on the square and need to do something to wind down for the evening, stop by The Strandon on March 5th for some relaxing vibes. And this is only the beginning of the events that The Strand has planned for March. There will be comedy shows, dance performances, concerts, and plenty of vintage movie screenings. The Strand has a list of all their events for the year on their website so check that out if you are interested in catching a movie or show on the square.
Oh, and we can’t forget about what Pie Bar has planned for March! March 14th is coming up so you know what that means, Pi Day! Yes, folks, Pi day is approaching and even though this Pi has nothing to do with the Pie we love, we still want to celebrate and spread the love. I don’t want to give away too many surprises but if you stop by any of the shops on March 14th, expect to see them fully decorated and stocked with pie! This is one of our busiest times of the year so y’all better grab a slice before it's gone! And if you want to take a look at our pies, you can click right here to get an idea what we have got!
Thanks so much for reading! As you can tell, Marietta Square has so many events and activities going on in March that you will always find something to do while you're here. And hey, even if nothing is going on, stop by the Pie Bar Marietta shop and we’ll be more than happy to serve you a piece of pie with some wonderful conversation.
See ya soon!

Gabrielle: Why did you want to work at Pie Bar?
Sam: “Well so before working at Pie Bar, I was a software engineer, and it was sooo boring. Like I got a college degree in computer science, I knew it was something I was interested in but after a year of working there I needed something different. I decided I wanted to find something I was more passionate about, and I googled baking jobs near me, and Pie Bar was literally the first one to pop up. I was like oh I like pie let me sign up for it. Within the first month of working at the kitchen I loved it. I loved this job every day.
After months of working at Pie Bar, I started to think like man, why am I working at this other job that I feel so unhappy at while I have this part time job that I love and I actually see myself working forward in. Pie Bar brings me happiness, and I can wake up early in the morning every day and do while this other job I'm just sitting here barely wanting to get out of bed thinking about that job. It was really like following what I want to do, which is baking food.
So in March of 2022 I quit my full time job, and committed to Pie Bar full time. I really feel as if here as a company, not only is the leadership so great, and they really want me to grow and to teach me things, but it really does feel like this culture of Pie Bar is trying to contribute to the community which is exactly what I want to do. I’m also learning a lot about small business and local business, which is an end goal of my own one day. Pie Bar provides me with not only internal fulfillment, but also teaches me so much about business. I have no regrets, this is a great company.”
Gabrielle: What is your favorite Pixar movie?
Sam: “Bruh, Monsters Inc. Anytime I see Sully or Boo together, it's like a father daughter relationship. Like when it looked like Boo went down the trash shoot, and then Sully thought she was being crushed, he reacted like he was her father. There are so many sweet heartfelt moments. It is such a good movie, it's like my top one. I think it's a part of me that wants to have kids someday. I think seeing that relationship makes it my favorite movie. It’s such a cool concept. Like we always were here as a kid ooo there's monsters under the bed and someone made a cool concept out of it.”
Gabrielle: If you could anywhere in the world where would you live and with who are what item.
Sam: “Oooo this is a good one, if I could live anywhere honestly I don’t know if we have a specific place in general, but I know that I would love a good bit of land around nature, but still close enough to society. I wouldn’t want to live in the middle of nowhere. Like a drive down to a city or small town or whatever. I would love to have my own farm someday. When I get to old age I want to be around things that give me peace. Also it has to be cold. Also I would bring my dog Timmy. I would have to have some sort of animal you know.”
Gabrielle: Who would you have lunch with, living or death?
Sam: “Bruh, I think one of the tops would be buddha. I feel like if he came back to life he would be like but I escaped the cycle of life and death why am I back here. However I would just ask him questions like how he got to where he got, what he thinks about life and ask him a whole bunch of questions. That would be fire.”
Gabrielle: I know you just recently moved into your own place with your friends! Was moving out a big deal to you?
Sam: "I wouldn’t say it was a huge deal, uh like OMG this is a big thing, but more like a growth as a person you know what i’m saying. Like now I have my own place and my own things and now I'm also growing as a Shop Manager at our Pie Bar Marietta location, it's like a combination of this next big step. Sam Mathew's journey in life. So like it was a big deal, but I'm just chilling, I’m doing what I need to do. This is the beginning of my life, you know.”
Gabrielle: What is the future end goal?
Sam: End goal man, for me is to own my own business, open it up. I don't really know exactly what it's going to be but like that would be the end goal. If I can provide a service to people, a product to people, help people become happy in some way. I think a business is the best way to do that: to put yourself into it, because it's something you grew from the ground up. It's not only fulfilling the journey, but also providing a result. Like that grind I have at Pie Bar lights that fire, because hard work and dedication is important. It’s something I'm willing to do to provide for people. I want to provide a service I'm willing to do to be able to provide for people that I like and I'm interested in.”

That is right folks it is officially here, National Pie Day is here! Not to be confused with 3.14, National Pie Day is a celebration of all things pies! From the sweet to the savory, this is the time of the year to show love to all forms of pie! As you would guess we here at Pie Bar are ready and excited to be celebrating this year, as we have got some cool items on tap for it! So allow me to break down what we got in store for this National Pie Day!
Is That A New Pie!?
Oh yes, folks, we are doing a very special vault release this time, as we are introducing a brand new flavor created by our back-of-house team and stemmed from an idea from our Marietta Store Manager Sam! This flavor is (Drumroll intensifies) The Midnight Snack Pie! This pie is the perfect blend of chewy, crunchy, sweet, and salty which is what we all crave when we have the perfect midnight snack! This pie is so wonderful you can have it either hot or cold, and you are sure to love it. Cold has a fantastic "cookie dough" texture and warmed up it has that "warm cookie from the oven" texture that is just out of this world, for warming it I would say around 30 seconds in the microwave should be a good starting point! Similarly to our Brown Sugar Chess if you get a slice we will also do a light sprinkle of salt on the top, and if you get a whole pie you can bet we will be giving you a packet of salt for salting at home! I am personally so excited about this pie, and I hope you all will share your experience with this pie with us!
Guest Appreciation Day!
We want to use this Pie Day as a way to say thank you for being such loyal and fantastic customers, just before Christmas we experienced some major hardship and y'all came out to support us and showed us so much, love. We want to show you all how much we appreciate you, so we are making this also a day to celebrate all of you! How are we doing that you ask? Well, we are going to be doing a complimentary slice of pie for each of our guests while supplies last! Y'all mean the world to us and we want to show you how much we care, so what better way than to swing by and get a free slice of pie!? We plan on baking quite a bit of pie so we hope y'all will come and visit us, as we really want to tell y'all how much you mean to us. This starts right when we open at 11 am and goes until 7 pm on Monday the 23rd, supplies will likely go quickly but we hope you will stop in!
This National Pie Day is a very special time for us, and we want it to be a special time for all of you as well! From everyone here at Pie Bar we are truly grateful for each and every one of you and we hope to see you on National Pie Day, take care, and Happy Pie Day!
]]>Cody and I started Pie Bar in 2015 when we were 25 years old. Over the past seven years I have held the tradition of sitting down and writing a Pie Bar Recap for the year that has passed. I’ve found it cathartic during hard years and incredibly uplifting during successful ones.
Each year’s recap is a time capsule of what we went through as an organization. The 2016 Pie Bar Recap is filled with passion for local ingredients like Georgia Grown strawberries and peaches. In 2017 I can feel my excitement about community engagement and the people that started to populate our team. I must have been tired in 2018 because I cannot find the recap for that year; however, in 2019 I started shifting my focus to the business side of Pie Bar instead of only baking. The 2020 Recap is filled with heartbreak and pivots while 2021 was all about recovery and holding on through the continuing pandemic.
At the end of December 2021 I saw the exhaustion in our teams’ eyes. They needed a reprieve from the day-to-day pressure that can come when operating on high alert. Did someone test positive today? Did we hit our sales goal? Will we go out of business like so many other Covid casualties?
Numbers and data are important to keep your business in-business. In fact, I would say to run a sustainable and successful business you have to find this ever-changing balance between the numbers, the culture, and the product. But every now and then you have to intentionally offset the balance and shift your focus to one of the facets to ensure a stronger future. In 2022 this meant a focus on culture and our people.
We decided to make 2022 “The Year of Fun!”
When our Leadership Team makes decisions we always fall back on a few items: Our Core Values (Community, Accountability, Passionate Positivity, and Warm Memories) and our Purpose Chart (Pie Bar’s Purpose is to Bring Joy Through Pie). Do the Core Values and the Purpose Chart support the decision we are about to make? Yes? Then move forward. No? Pump the brakes.
In 2022 we added a third check-in before making a decision. Does this satisfy our focus on creating “The Year of Fun”?
We kicked off 2022 in January and February with what I consider a lot of fun: A brand new pie flavor (hello, Mocha Cream!) and a light construction project (let’s knock down a wall and open this kitchen up a little.)
Our Honorary Team Mom, Jill, along with our Woodstock Shop Team Lead, Tony, hosted a surprise Bridal Shower for our General Manager, Vivian. We all sipped on Tiny Bubbles Tea and asked Vivian inappropriate questions about her upcoming honeymoon.
By the time March and April rolled around we were in Full-Fun-Swing and started partnering up with other local businesses faster than two teens at prom. Fashion Cupcake in Downtown Woodstock hosted us for a Pop-Up in conjunction with Visit Woodstock Georgia’s Spring Sip + Shop. We then created *another* new pie with Red Hare Brewing. The Spring Break Pie was born and highlighted Red Hare’s Pecan Spiced Rum. We closed out the Spring with a little TV time where I was labeled a “Pecan Expert” on Atlanta + Company...and if being called an expert in anything is not fun to you, then obviously our priorities are different.
Since we wanted “The Year of Fun” to continue, we launched our largest series ever: The Inspired Pie Series. This series ran from May, June, July, and August and each month we featured a different pie shop and its signature pie flavor at Pie Bar. We passed out free Inspired Pie Series Passports that were later redeemed for items like free pie or custom stickers.
While simultaneously hosting The Inspired Pie Series, we started sending team members back out into the streets where they got to interact with the community. Events like Woodstock Art’s Art on the Green, three different Pop-Ups hosted by Dress Up Boutiques, a Christmas in July event with actual holiday flavors, a team meet-up where we played games and drank some beers at Kennesaw’s Horned Owl Brewing, and because we love making our space so pretty, we got new flooring and a new front door at Pie Bar Woodstock.
August meant Pie Bar Marietta turned 2-years-old and we celebrated with the launch of our first Gluten Friendly Pie (Brown Sugar Chess!) and a Gluten Free Pie Pop collaboration with King of Pops (Strawberry Rhubarb Pie Pop with Gluten Free Crumble.) We treated ourselves to some flower boxes outside of the Marietta Square Shop to jazz things up a bit because no second child is satisfied until things are “even stevens.” (But Woodstock got new floors! What do I get?!?)
If you can believe it, Pie Bar Woodstock turned 7-years-old in September. In an effort to continue “The Year of Fun” as we shifted into our busy season, we participated in Atlanta Food + Wine, Taste of Woodstock, launched our new Beef and Mushroom Pot Pie, and finally received our newest (and most expensive!) piece of equipment: A Cookie Crust Press. This piece of equipment helps our team make more graham cracker, oreo, and oat crumble pie crusts in less time, which means they have more time for fun things like the nacho bar and game night we held for the team.
It seems folks were back on the “let’s have a big wedding train” because in October our team baked for 12 weddings. One of the weddings was held at the same vineyard where Cody and I were married in 2013, so we celebrated 9 years of marriage over a glass of wine and a secret slice of pie. Back in Woodstock, we partnered with our OG favorite business, Reformation Brewery to celebrate their 9th anniversary with a special Pie Bar Beer: Spiced Oatmeal Cookie Pie Imperial Brown Ale. If you were lucky enough to get a six-pack then you know pie and beer are fantastic partners. We hosted the 2nd Annual Pie Eating Contest in partnership with The City of Marietta Parks & Recreation Department, and only a few people got whipped cream up their noses.
I was stressed going into November, unsure how I would carry on with “The Year of Fun” during our busiest month of the year. Thanksgiving Week is something we begin to plan for in August due to the large scope of pies, people, and planning required to pull off baking 1,800 pies in three days. Following Thanksgiving Week we poll our team to find out what was done well and what could be improved. Our Leadership Team received feedback like “least stressful Thanksgiving ever,” and “the most fun I’ve had while working at Pie Bar,” so I would say that “The Year of Fun” lived on through the Thanksgiving Season. PLUS, I was only yelled at by two people that entire week, so I WOULD SAY THAT IS A SUCCESS (the average is usually about 6 people, so 2 is a HUGE WIN!)
In December we celebrated our team with an evening of cookie swapping and arcade games at Blue Ghost Arcade in Downtown Woodstock. It turns out our team has some closeted pinball lovers, and I was glad to see we were able to further their obsession.
We experienced some heartbreak on December 23rd when our Marietta Shop was broken into and our safe and cash drawer were taken. Dealing with a robbery doesn’t really fall under my idea of fun, but it did highlight so many things for us to be grateful for. Our team rallied together and quickly set a plan to serve our Marietta guests that were expecting their Christmas Pies that same day. Our community overwhelmed us with love and support in the form of phone calls, text messages, social media comments, and donations of food and money. They wanted to make sure that our team knew just how beloved they really are, and as we ate gifted tacos and ran around serving customers that had come out to support us, I knew that although this particular moment was not fun, it was special. And sure, 2022 was supposed to be “The Year of Fun” not “The Year of Special,” but when I look back at all of the things we did as a team and a community this year, I would say either is fine with me.
Cody and I sat down yesterday and had our end-of-year review meeting. We cover our annual finances (is this thing making money?!), our turnover rate (are our people happy?!), our products (do the pies taste so good?!), and set plans for the upcoming year.
I was pleased to see that “The Year of Fun” was a success. We remained profitable, our in-house staff promotions, perks, and pay increased, and our pies have never looked or tasted better.
When you focus heavily on one area of your business it can be scary because that means the other areas may not be receiving the level of attention needed to thrive. But it seems, taking the leap into “The Year of Fun” allowed our team to breathe after a couple of challenging years and has rejuvenated our passion for Pie Bar’s Purpose of Bringing Joy Through Pie.
Happy New Year. I am excited to see what happens in 2023.

I hope y'all all had a Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays! Now it's time for the day we've all been waiting for - New Year's! We all get to celebrate the new year coming around because I'm sure we all know 2022 has been a fun ride. 2022 has definitely been interesting for me, but I'm excited for 2023 because I'm starting a new year in college and I have big plans ahead for myself! Call it a New Year's resolution, I guess, because I have a TON of things prepared for the new year. When you come in, tell us about your New Year's resolutions!
As for the fun part, our New Year's Vault Release is going to be the Hoosier Sugar Cream pie! Traditionally a pie from Indiana, it's nostalgic for many people who visit from the Midwest. It originated from the North Carolina Quakers in the 19th century, and it was named Indiana's unofficial state pie in 2009. This pie is absolutely to die for, and I'll tell ya why!
We like to describe this pie as a decadent mix between a sugar cookie and crème Brulee. It has a creamy yet custardy filling in our super flaky all-butter pie crust with a nice layer of powdered sugar to top it off! The pie is described as similar to a chess pie. The Hoosier Cream pie was once called a "desperation" pie, as it was made with ingredients that were affordable and readily available without a trip to the store. It was also called a "finger" pie, as the baker would often mix the filling with their finger. The base ingredients are flour, sugar, butter, and cream, which in both the 19th century and now are necessities for a nicely stocked pantry. It's said that all you needed was a "cow and sugar", and you'd be able to make this pie. Of course, three of the four core ingredients are made from cow's milk, so it's pretty convenient. I feel like I should have a cow now; it would be really helpful.
There is a mass producer of Hoosier Cream Pies located in Winchester, Indiana called Wick's Pies. The baker originally sold his pies out of a single restaurant and a car in the 1940s, but since it became so popular, he opened an entire business and factory. They are the biggest producer of Hoosier Cream Pies, and they sell to over 25 states. Although they are popular for their pies, I definitely think our Hoosier Cream is just as great. The recipe was handcrafted by Lauren Bolden, Pie Bar's founder, and owner, years ago, and it's slowly been improved and renovated each year. The ingredients are simple: sugar (regular and light brown), flour, a dash of salt, heavy cream, and nice natural flavors added such as vanilla extract and ground nutmeg. It's sprinkled with a coat of powdered sugar and put in our famous pie crust. Lauren's vision of the pie is absolutely amazing, and I definitely think it's worth a try.
I have only spent one New Year's with Pie Bar, but I wish we carried this pie year-round. I would love to have it every single day. But, I'm a bit biased, because crème Brulee is my favorite dessert of all time, and it's basically a crossover with another amazing dessert that I love: sugar cookies.
This New Year's will surely be a special one, so make some extra memories with our Hoosier Cream Pie to say farewell to 2022! No matter what you're celebrating about the New Year, or simply reminiscing on the past year, this pie will bring a smile to everyone's face. It'll also make a great addition to a New Year's Eve party!
We currently have preorders open for slices and whole pies of the Hoosier Cream Pie on our website! The only day for pickup is 12/31, or New Year's Eve. Our hours are limited, as we are open 11 am-5 pm so that our team members also get to celebrate! So, be sure to select the best time that works for you that day. If you need assistance ordering a pie, don't hesitate to call either of our shops during normal open hours! Woodstock's phone number is 678-402-6245. Marietta's is 678-402-5176. Also, be sure to pick the correct shop location! We will have limited walk-ins of the pie if any at all, so we cannot guarantee we can fill the order at the location the order was not placed for.
New Year's Eve is going to be big this year! There will be updates on our social media (pie_bar on Instagram and TikTok, and Pie Bar on Facebook) about whether we have walk-ins, and if we do, how many. We will also be accepting walk-ins of any of our other flavors available in the case that day, so either check out our online menu or give us a quick call! Since it's a busier holiday, make sure to come earlier in the day to snag that pie you want!
Thank you all for supporting Pie Bar and giving us a wonderful 2022! We can't wait to have you all next year and tell us all about your past year and your New Year's resolutions. And, be sure to preorder the Hoosier Cream to add to your experience!
Happy New Year everyone, and let's all aim for the best year yet!

Happy Holidays, y'all! Christmas is *right* around the corner peeking at ya! In case you're like me and do not shop until the last minute, we have the perfect gifts for those pie lovers in your life! Just kidding, I've been shopping since October, but we still have the best gifts for your loved ones! We have coffee, jams, candles, and more!
For those who love coffee as much as I do (not joking about this one), we have bags of whole-bean Pie Bar Blend Alma coffee! It comes specially from Alma Coffee in Holly Springs as a blend made for Pie Bar, with tasting notes of citrus, chocolate, and walnut. It's a 3/4lb bag, meaning it should keep you set for a little while if you've got a coffee grinder at home! Alma coffee has become a staple for Pie Bar, as we serve their drip coffee and espresso in shops. If anyone you know loves Pie Bar coffee, consider getting them a bag of Alma coffee as a cute gift! It fits perfectly in a medium gift bag with some festive tissue paper.
I also happen to be a sucker for candles. A certain fragrance store has my heart, but our candles are personally my favorite for cozy fall or winter vibes. We have Warm Memories, scented like a fresh-baked apple pie, Cozy Space, which is cinnamon and pumpkin, and Season's Greetings, which is a nice, fresh pine scent. I got Season's Greetings last year and OMG, it is phenomenal. I'm not one for pine, but it is an amazing candle. Feels just like Christmas in a tiny jar of wax. It fills the room with a wonderful scent, and any of these candles are perfect gifts for those who love a cozy space (haha, get it?). Anyone who loves a good candle will love these!
One awesome gift-worthy merch we have are pie-inspired jams! We have peach pie, blueberry pie, and very limited strawberry pie jams. These are great for sandwiches, toast, morning biscuits, or charcuterie boards! The peach pie jam is the most popular, and rightfully so! It's perfectly sweet with the amazing taste of peach. These are made by Pie Provisions, Pie Bar's retail line. So, we use ingredients from our pies (peaches, blueberries, etc.) for these jams. They are handmade, special, and tasty! If you know someone that is a jam connoisseur, these would make a great gift.
Some of our other goods includes mugs, our Warm Memories journal, pie crust mix and filling, and apparel. The mugs are wonderful gifts for coffee or tea drinkers. They are the same style as a classic diner mug, which are a classic for coffee drinkers. With the purchase of a mug comes a free hot drip coffee! You can redeem it when you buy the mug, or take a free coffee card to include with the gift. I got my dad the mug last year, and now it's his coffee mug every morning, alternating between that one and a diner mug from a cool place in Savannah (same diner mug style). My dad is pretty picky about his mugs, so if you know someone similar, consider the mugs!
Our Warm Memories journal was crafted from wonderful memories of Pie Bar from customers, former team members, family members, and Lauren and Cody themselves. It includes many accounts of how Pie Bar has created a warm memory for someone at some point in their life, and that's our whole goal! The community has come together to make this book, so it's worth a read! And if I haven't sold you on it yet, it has pie recipes from Lauren herself! There are classic Pie Bar pies in there, plus ones you may never have heard of! I gifted this journal to my grandmother last year and she loved it. It's perfect for someone who loves Pie Bar and the memories we make!
We also have a pie crust mix of our classic all-butter flaky pie crust and fillings for Bourbon Pecan, Classic Blueberry, and Ginger Peach. These are also part of Pie Provisions, so the fillings are handcrafted, jarred, and sealed by our team members! If you know someone who LOVES to bake, this is def for them. I gifted my mom the Bourbon Pecan pie filling and it was a huge hit! Can you tell I like giving Pie Bar merch as gifts? We have Perfect Pie Kits where you can purchase a pie filling and box crust mix in a package together, so it's a great gift for someone who would love to handcraft a pie, but doesn't know where to start!
We have some pretty cool Pie Bar apparel, as well. We have t-shirts, crewnecks, and hats! Plus, if you purchase a piece of wearable merch, every time you wear it from then on, you get a 10% discount on your whole order, no matter what you're buying. As long as you have that cool shirt or hat on, you'll get a pretty sweet discount. These are also great for people that want to show off their Pie Bar pride! I wear my Pie Bar shirts and hats everywhere, even if the hats are my uniform. They're comfy, and make for great accessories!
One last ~special~ product I haven't brought up is our brand-new pie-inspired ornaments! These come from Old World Christmas, and they are beautifully crafted Christmas tree ornaments. We have four designs in our selection: we have an Apple Pie slice, a Pecan Pie slice, a Blueberry Pie slice, and a coffee carafe. The coffee carafe might just be my mom's gift this year; it's so precious, and she's an avid coffee drinker. The pie ornaments are just the cutest, though! I want one to hang on my tree to keep Pie Bar memories alive, even if it's years in the future. These ornaments are perfect Christmas Eve gifts so that they have at least one night on the tree! They're just the cutest little Christmas accessories, and will show off your love of pie to the fam!
This year's Christmas will be truly special, and you can add some more memories by getting someone a Pie Bar gift! We also have gift cards if you're not completely sure what someone would like. And a Christmas pie may make someone happy, too! We will have very limited walk-ins the week before Christmas, so come early to check out what we'll have! Overall, Pie Bar gifts are sure to create warm memories and bring a smile to someone's face.
Happy Holidays!

Happy Holidays! Pie Bar's Christmas orders are officially open! Our menu is limited, like our Thanksgiving menu, but with new flavors!
Our flavors for sweet Christmas pies are:
- Apple Streusel
- Bourbon Pecan
- Salted Peanut Butter Cup
- Cranberry & Orange Custard
- Key Lime
- Bourbon Chocolate Pecan
All those flavors are to die for! Apple Streusel and Bourbon Pecan are classics! Cranberry Orange Custard is a nice winter flavor, and Key Lime and Salted Peanut Butter Cup are big hits in our shops! It's a great selection this year. Now let's check out savories!
Our frozen products will include:
- Rosemary Chicken Pot Pie (10")
- Roasted Veggie Pot Pie (10")
- Shepherd's Pie
- Bacon, Cheddar, and Chives Quiche
- Spinach, Feta, and Red Pepper Quiche
- Vanilla Ice Cream Pints
Personally, I think a quiche would be a great addition to your Christmas morning! The Bacon and Cheddar quiche is our most popular quiche; it makes for a great breakfast or brunch! the Rosemary Chicken Pot Pie is our most popular pot pie, and it's an amazing, cozy winter dinner. We also have pints of locally crafted Butter and Cream Vanilla Ice Cream! Makes a great addition to pies like Apple, Pecan, or Brown Sugar Chess.
Now, let's talk about ordering these delicious pies. all of our Christmas orders go through OrderPieBar.com. There will be a Christmas tab, which you'll click on to get to the limited Christmas menu. When you add your pies to the cart, make sure all pies say "Christmas" in parentheses. This will ensure that all orders are for Christmas. If not all items in the cart are labeled "(Christmas)", then the website will not allow you to check out.
When you add your pies to the cart and you are finished with your selection, make sure to select the correct pickup location, either Marietta or Woodstock. You will select a time between 11 am and 6 pm Monday through Thursday, 12 pm and 4 pm for Sunday, or 11 am to 8 pm for Friday. These dates will be December 18th through the 23rd. Make sure to select the time that works best for you for the most efficient pickup process.
When you've selected your time and date for pickup, it will lead you to the contact information page. You will enter your email, first and last name, and phone number. After that you've completed your order, you will receive a confirmation email to the one you provided on the contact information page.
That's it! Your Christmas order is placed and will be ready for pickup on the day you selected! If there are any issues with your order, like changing a pie or the pickup time/date, please respond to your confirmation email BEFORE Friday, December 16th at 9 pm. After that, we cannot make any changes to your order.
Walk-ins will be available the week of Christmas, but there is no guarantee that the flavor you desire will be in the case later in the day. Since there is a large volume of pickup orders, we have limited walk-in orders. That's why we highly, highly, HIGHLY recommend placing preorders. It saves the stress of needing a pie but not having the guarantee of getting it. We will post on our social media every morning of that week what walk-ins we have. If we have the pie in the shop that day, you can call on that day ONLY to place a pre-order for pickup THAT DAY. We will require payment over the phone.
Christmas is a huge time of year for us, and we're so excited to serve you!
Thank you for taking the time to listen to my guide! I hope everyone has an amazing holiday season!

Hey there! You're here with Abby, the self-proclaimed expert on Pie Bar history! Today, I'll be giving a crash course on Thanksgiving here at Pie Bar, including how it works and how it began! Let's get started, shall we?
First, let's begin with what Thanksgiving really looks like at Pie Bar, for both customers and our team members. For customers, we set up a whole drive-thru at our Commissary Kitchen located on Shallowford Rd in Kennesaw. The road is a small backroad from Canton Rd to Shallowford Rd, so we set up a plan. We have traffic going in one direction, looping around the building to get your pie and exit the opposite direction. It's incredibly convenient and quick, which makes it easy for all of us! On our end, we spend the four days leading up to Thanksgiving working hard in our kitchen. We do tasks like sorting through apples, making pie dough, folding boxes, and putting crusts in tins for all kinds of pies! We spend almost a week together, as a team, preparing to make your holiday season better, and in the process, we get to know each other so much better! It's such a fun time and we're so happy to make your pie experience better.
As for the history, we have a little story. We originally did all of our baking in the Woodstock location, including Thanksgiving baking. Within the last few years, we opened the Commissary to make it easier to bake a larger amount of pies as Pie Bar became more popular amongst the community! Our Commissary opened as an official part of Pie Bar in January 2019, which made it so much easier to bake enough pies to keep up with our new growth! When Woodstock started to blossom into the community a bit more, our little back-of-shop kitchen simply wasn't doing it anymore. So, the Commissary has made everything easier and more fun for the team!
We began to receive more preorders for Thanksgiving as the years passed, which meant we had to store a bunch of pies in both shops, and we barely even had room to walk! Now, we do a fun drive-thru at our Commissary for convenience. We can store much more pies while serving every customer with a bright and encouraging attitude! With the drive-thru, you don't even have to get out of your car. Isn't that neat? You give us a name, we get your pie, and bring it straight to your car for you! It makes it easier for you, as the customer, to prep for Thanksgiving without the stress of getting out of your car. If you preorder a pie this year, you'll see many of us on the sidewalk guiding cars, and please feel free to say hi! If you have any questions, we're happy to help with that as well. We're here to help you have a great experience!
Thanksgiving is the biggest time of year for Pie Bar, because who doesn't get an apple pie and think of a Thanksgiving meal? On our menu this year, we have Apple Streusel, Bourbon Pecan, Bourbon Chocolate Pecan, Pumpkin Crumble, and Traditional Pumpkin. For savories, we have 10" Rosemary Chicken Pot Pies, 10" Roasted Veggie Pot Pies, Shepherd's Pie, Bacon Cheddar, Chives Quiche, Spinach Feta, and Red Pepper Quiche. We also offer pints of Butter and Cream Pie Bar Vanilla ice cream to accompany your pies! We offer a limited menu due to the volume of pie orders we receive at Thanksgiving, but have no fear! If you have a pie in mind that's not on our Thanksgiving menu, almost all of our pies freeze well! The exception is a cream pie with a pastry crust (i.e. Coconut Cream). Some great pies not on our Thanksgiving menu, but that you can freeze to bring to the family, are Brown Sugar Chess, Key Lime, and Peanut Butter Cream! Our Halloween Vault Release, the Salted Peanut Butter Cup Pie, also freezes great! You can pick one up for Halloween weekend, then grab an extra to freeze for Thanksgiving. All pies last up to 6 months in the freezer, so you could even save it for Spring!
We're SO excited to see you for Thanksgiving this year! Our team works so hard to give you a great experience, so we hope you love the pies you plan to enjoy on Thanksgiving Day!
See ya then!
]]>A great thing about our Salted Peanut Butter Cup Pie is that it is really a crowd-pleaser! For a party with family or friends, you can bring this pie as a sweet treat for dessert (before dinner). It's like a Reese's cup but like, ten times better. Combine this pie with some pumpkin or apple cider drinks and it'll be the greatest Halloween hit of the year! I know I'm going to sit down with a slice, drink some apple cider, and enjoy a scary movie on Halloween (of course, after I come home from serving all you wonderful peeps!).
The Salted Peanut Butter Cup Pie is only available the weekend of Halloween, so the 29th-31st. We're currently taking preorders for slices and whole pies on our website as well! Visit orderpiebar.com, click on the shop tab, click sweet pies, and it'll be right there on our menu! Whether you want a few slices for yourself, or a whole pie also for yourself (only joking a little), we have both options for ya!
We totally understand if you have plans the evening of Halloween! We're open normal hours on the weekend (11am-9pm), and we'll be serving you slices, whole pies, and coffee all day long. No guarantee, but we'll post to our socials (@pie_bar on Instagram and Pie Bar on Facebook) if we have available walk-ins! We can plate it up for ya and give you a nice warm coffee (or latte, for that extra boost of caffeine) in a fashionable mug. Bring your kids for some extra Halloween treats!
Since we are bringing in Salted Peanut Butter Cup for the weekend, it will be in the case instead of Peanut Butter Cream, but have no fear! The Salted Peanut Butter Cup filling is the exact same filling as the Peanut Butter Cream, it just has a graham cracker crust instead of an Oreo crust, and a chocolate ganache and sea salt instead of a whipped topping! In my opinion, I love the Salted Peanut Butter Cup. It's the perfect sweet and salty, and it definitely puts me in the mood for Halloween!
I'll be here in Marietta on Halloween to guarantee you get the best Salted Peanut Butter Cup Pie ever! Take a peek Halloween weekend and snag a slice or two, and I hope to see y'all here! If you're closer to Woodstock, they have the pie, too!
Happy Halloween!

]]>Chalktoberfest has arrived, folks! Coming up this Saturday and Sunday, October 8th-9th, the Marietta Square will be hosting Chalktoberfest, the popular art and beer festival for the month of October! There will be art vendors, beer and wine, food trucks, and so much more! Keep reading to see all the amazing events taking place!
Chalktoberfest first began in 2013 as a festival held by the Marietta Cobb Museum of Art. The festival is a fundraiser aimed to help the museum grow, and since 2013 has become one of the most popular festivals in Cobb County. Chalktoberfest has won awards for Best Festival in Cobb by Cobb Life Magazine in both 2016 and 2017, along with the Mayor's Art Reward for the City of Marietta. There are a few local sponsors, and the museum is also taking donations to further fund their art showcasing.
This year's Chalktoberfest will be on October 8th and 9th, placing it on its usual second weekend in October. The big events will be the Beer Craft Festival portion and the Chalk Contest. The Beer Festival will be on Saturday and the Chalk Contest on Sunday, giving great reasons to attend all weekend! The festival is free attend, but the beer festival portion has an entry fee, but only of $45! Imagine paying such a great price to try over 120 different beers, ales, and wines! There will be 40 different breweries attending, so of course you get to try a bit of everything! On Sunday is the Chalk Contest, a super fun contest to see who creates the most imaginative chalk art on the Square! The streets will be lined with amazing chalk art for days or even weeks to come. There are multiple divisions ranging in different age groups, so everyone has an opportunity to create something beautiful! There will also be professional chalk artists in the Square all weekend showcasing their fantastic art!
All weekend, there will be live entertainment, vendors, and food trucks. There will be many vendors displaying and selling their art in the artisan market for the weekend, along with food trucks to serve food not usually in the Square! For the live entertainment, there will be all kinds of performers, ranging from singers to dancers to bands. Most of them are based out of Atlanta or Georgia altogether, adding a touch of locality to the scene!
While you're in the Square for all the art and drinks, make a little stop by Pie Bar! For the fall season, we just brought in our brand new Pumpkin Crumble! It's a traditional spiced pumpkin filling with a brown sugar and pecan crumble on the top. It's to die for! Pair it with a cappuccino or latte and you're good to go! For those who aren't a huge fan of pumpkin, you can try out our Brown Sugar Chess or Apple Streusel, some other great fall flavors! All of these can be served with coffee or espresso, and some flavors in our case can be warmed up and served "all the way," meaning it's warmed up with a scoop of locally crafted vanilla ice cream on top! It's really just a crime to not enjoy a slice of pie while you're already here!
Alright y'all, this kicks off fall for us. Stop by for Chalktoberfest and slice of your favorite fall flavor to celebrate the cooler weather! See y'all then!

Here at Pie Bar Marietta, we have a great variety of flavors for our espresso and coffee drinks! We can serve any of our flavors in a latte, cappuccino, iced latte, americano, or drip coffee!
We're going to start with my favorite flavor: lavender vanilla! Lavender vanilla is perfect in an iced latte! An iced lavender vanilla latte makes for the perfect spring drink. It's perfect for the warm weather we still have. This latte will pair amazingly with a slice of our Toasted Coconut Cream! They're both sweet and have a nice taste of vanilla, so they are the perfect duo!
The next amazing flavor is caramel. Here at Pie Bar, we love a good caramel iced coffee! Coffee mixed with our caramel syrup and plenty of milk, it's such a delight! If you love how sweet caramel is, it'll pair well with our Bourbon Pecan. Having it all the way (warmed up with ice cream!) will bring it to the next level. It's all wonderful put together, especially for the beginning of fall!
Another great addition to your caffeinated drink is pumpkin! A hot pumpkin cappuccino will bring the fuzzy feeling of fall back to Marietta, Georgia! A pumpkin cappuccino will pair great with our Apple Streusel Pie! It has a nice caramel drizzle on top, which adds to the cozy fall feeling. You can have it warmed up with ice cream, too! Perfect for the cozy autumn creeping upon us!
Do you love gingerbread? We sure do! With the holiday season coming up, nothing is as festive as a hot gingerbread latte! Paired perfectly with our Brown Sugar Chess, the mix of salty and sweet, and bold will surely leave you wanting more! The Brown Sugar Chess is a staff fave, so having coffee with it will make the experience so much better!
Marietta's second birthday was this August, so we have some special Birthday Cake flavor left! The flavor is a nice mix of vanilla and almond, almost like a birthday cake! You can put it in an iced latte and it'll be the perfect way to cool off! Pair it with a Peanut Butter Cream slice if you're a sweet tooth! What a way to celebrate a birthday!
The last flavor on our list is a classic! Vanilla goes great with any coffee you get, but I personally love it in a cappuccino! The foam with the sweet flavor of vanilla and the bold coffee is surely a nice, warm treat. Pair it with a slice of Chocolate Chess, and add another touch of vanilla by having it all the way! It's a good mix of warm and chilled to give us the essence of fall!
Just a reminder, we can make all of these drinks with oat milk, for those that have a dairy intolerance!
Take a peek today at our flavors of both coffee and pie, and stop by for a warm (or chilly!) treat!

Ah, Fall, my favorite time of the year is here and I am so excited about it! There is just something special about seeing the leaves change colors, the temps come down, and seeing the clothing change from shorts to cozy long sleeves! Of course, I would be a fool not to mention all of the exciting things happening within Woodstock! So join me my friends as we take a tour of what is in store for Downtown Woodstock this October!
WDSTK Oktoberfest Pub Crawl
Who doesn't love a good old fashion pub crawl, I know Woodstock does! Many of the local bars here Downtown will be celebrating Oktoberfest with a fun, and exciting pub crawl! Regardless if you are going it alone or going on an outing with friends, pub crawls are a wonderful way to enjoy the fall weather. Going from 2 pm to 6 pm, you can visit any participating restaurants and immerse yourself in many of the fantastic spots here in Downtown Woodstock! Of course, while we may not be participating ourselves, feel free to pop by for a slice of pie to recharge you for the rest of the crawl!
Scarecrow Invasion
With October here so too is one great tradition, The Woodstock Scarecrow Invasion. Local businesses from all across Downtown Woodstock work hard and bring together scarecrows that line the walkways of Woodstock! What is even cooler is if you think there is a scarecrow that is a cut above the rest, you can vote for that scarecrow to be this year's winner! Votes are $1 each but what's super cool is all the funds go to the city itself, meaning you are supporting your favorite scarecrow and helping the city as well! The invasion goes from October 1st to October 31st, so be sure to get out there and see all the delightful Scarecrows! Oh, and you better believe Pie Bar is out there with a scarecrow of our own, be sure to head over and check out the Pie-rates of the Caribbean!

It's officially Fall! Even if it's still a little too warm outside to be sweater weather, we can still enjoy fun fall events! Marietta has plenty of activities planned to get us in the spooky season spirit.
On the weekend of Oct.8-9, Marietta Square will hold its annual Chalktoberfest. This festival includes a Chalk Art Festival and Craft Beer and Wine Festival, so it'll have something for everyone! You'll get the chance to enjoy impressive chalk art created by over 80 professional chalk artists. If you're more interested in creating the art yourself, there will also be sections of the festival for chalk art competitions for kids, teens, and adults, as well as a crafts and games area for the kids! While you take in all these chalk masterpieces, you can get a pint of craft beer or a glass of wine. With 40 breweries and over 20 wine choices, you'll be sure to find a drink you enjoy! If you are interested in joining in on the fun, make sure you come by the Square on Saturday or Sunday, October 8-9. The Chalk Festival will be free and open to the public and tickets can be purchased ahead of time for the beer and wine tastings. For more information on the festival visit: Click Here.
Midway through October on Saturday the 15th, the Square will host Harvestfest. This annual event is always a good time for the whole family! The festival is full of fun events from 9 am to 5 pm. The Harvestfest Market will be open all day and include local artists and craftspeople selling their woodwork, jewelry, paintings, pottery, and more! Touch-a-Trunk will be held from 10 am to 2 pm and offer festival-goers the opportunity to see some interesting vehicles up close such as firetrucks, police cars, and tractors. It's the perfect event for any kid obsessed with cars! The second annual pie eating contest will be held at 11:30 and anyone ages 6 and up is invited to participate. And yes of course Pie Bar will be serving the pie!
The Halloween Happenings Kids' Festival opens at 1 pm and will be chock-full of fun for the kids! There will be carnival games, bounce houses, and the opportunity to trick or treat, so make sure you bring your costume. If you think your costume might just be the best hand-made costume head over to the costume contest by 1:30 pm at the Glover Park Stage. Kids ages 1 to 12 are invited to compete. And there will even be a pet costume contest, so your fur kids don't have to miss out on the fun!
While you enjoy all the events Harvestfest has to offer, you can take in all the scarecrow creations put together by businesses, schools, clubs, and non-profits in the Marietta area. They will all be on display throughout Glover Park. This is always a favorite part of Harvestfest and a wonderful way for the community to come together. We had such a fun time creating our scarecrow for Pie Bar last year and are looking forward to it again this year, so make sure you look out for the scarecrow holding a pie!
If you're willing to travel outside the Square for some fall fun, the North Georgia State Fair will be held at Jim R. Miller Park in Marietta. In addition to the classic fair rides, corndogs, and funnel cakes, there will also be exhibits such as a dog show, live music, and mural painting. The fair will run from September 22nd to October 2nd and will be the perfect way to kick off the fall season!

Next stop: Scarecrows in the Square! This year, Pie Bar will be presenting a Sweeney Todd-inspired scarecrow, based on the song "The Worst Pies in London" from the movie. The song describes the meat pies shown in the movie. This is perfect to highlight our Take 'n' Bake Savory Pies! The Beef and Mushroom Pot Pies (which come in 6" and 10") are the most similar to the meat pies in the movie, so check out our newest addition to the savory collection! Woo-hoo! Coming up on Thursday, September 15th is the "SLICED" event at Atlanta Food and Wine, where Pie Bar will have lil' tastings of our sweet pie! The whole event is based around sliced food, so pie fits in perfectly, don't ya think?
It's the first year Atlanta Food and Wine is hosting the "Sliced" event, so it'll be a fun new experience for those who have come before, and for those who have never been to the great event that is Atlanta Food and Wine! There'll be tons of food, including pizza, pies, and even bread. Sliced is an event where everyone is able to try a little bit of food from everyone!
For SLICED, the tickets will be available for purchase on the Atlanta Food and Wine website. It will be hosted at the Guardian Works, a beautiful, new outdoor venue in Atlanta. It has the prettiest green lawn and a beautifully structured building with a patio fit for a wedding (quite literally, a lot of people have gotten married here)! It's truly an amazing venue for such a fun event!
There are going to be so many people showcasing their wonderful treats and savories at Sliced! It will be so cool to see everybody's awesome food! Of course, Pie Bar will be there, but there are some other bakeries there, such as Crave Pie Studio, Ghoul Next Door Bakeshop, and Roho Bakery. All these bakeries are run by baked goods enthusiasts! They are all going to have a great time handing out some tastings! Some savory shops showing up will be Pielands Sub and Slice, Grecian Gyro, Knead to Savor, and Nina and Rafi. These range from pizzas to gyros to bread! If you decide to check out Sliced, check out all these businesses as well! I'm sure it'll all be amazing.
Sliced, and Atlanta Food and Wine as a whole will be such a great experience for everyone involved! Tasting delicious food, enjoying the company, and seeing us (the best part, of course) will bring a smile to your face! Hope to see ya then!

Ah, yes. September. Where here in Georgia, we think it's going to be chilly, but it is not. Although, don't let that unnecessary fall heat beat ya down! There are so many fun things coming to Marietta in September this year. The biggest one is Atlanta Food and Wine, where (hint hint) we'll be there! Mini munchies will available for everyone to try, only if you're interested (which you totally should be). ATL Food and Wine will be held from September 15th-18th, although, we'll be there September 15th from 7 pm-10 pm. We're partaking in the "Sliced: Cut of Atlanta's Best Pies" event. There you can see so many other businesses that have slices of great food, whether savory or sweet. Our small businesses must stick together! Everybody there will have amazing treats, so definitely visit us all!
On September 17th-18th, Marietta will be hosting the Marietta Streetfest! To kick off the days, there will be a little vendors' market for over 70 crafters to show off their artwork and crafts. Every piece is unique in its way, so go give them a look-see! To continue the day, a car show called Hubcaps and History Classic Car Show will take place. For all you mechanics out there, or if you're just a car person, this will be a sight to see! Finishing the day will be the GrassRoots Music Festival. Multiple artists from the community will be performing to show off their wonderful talent! The best part is that admission is free, and includes free same-day admission to the Marietta Museum of History. The event will take place rain or shine, so come prepared!
Occurring throughout September is the production of Guys and Dolls, a musical about a dramatic love triangle. What's awesome is that former team member Eliza from Pie Bar Marietta is participating in the production of the show! It takes place at the Lyric Theater right here in Marietta Square. Production dates are August 26th-28th and September 1st-4th. Go give the show a little love!
Marietta is a great place to spend a nice (but possibly hot) fall day. Plenty of events offer food and entertainment, and it's a great way to meet new people or spend time with friends. Come give us a visit if you're at one of these events! See ya!

Happy Birthday to Pie Bar Marietta! On August 12, 2022, Pie Bar Marietta turned two years old! The whole day was a celebration, with balloons, complimentary itty bitties, and a special Birthday Pie Latte!
The day started busy, with a line out the door almost immediately after we opened! We offered a special Birthday Pie Latte for the birthday celebration, and we made a TON of those as well! It was a delicious vanilla almond syrup with whipped cream and fun rainbow sprinkles. It was amazing, I have to say. I drank way too many of them over the weekend. With the day starting busy, we enjoyed talking to each customer and telling them how Pie Bar Marietta just turned two! Everyone seemed as excited as we were!
Between 6 pm and 8 pm, we held a fun little reception with complimentary itty bitties! Everyone that came in seemed to enjoy them. We had caramel apple and bourbon chocolate pecan - both classic flavors! I had so much fun while working, that I stayed after my shift just to hang out! I read my book and chatted with our awesome Back of House team members that came to visit and celebrate. Then, I had so much fun serving customers that I worked the rest of the night. It was a really fun day!
Of course, to celebrate, we need to share some Pie Bar memories. One of my favorites is when I was with Pie Bar Marietta's team lead, Susanna, and a man came by on a unicycle. A unicycle! He "parked" it outside, came inside, and asked us to guess how big the wheel was. Spoiler alert: it was 3 feet in diameter. Another fun memory is the Scarecrows on the Square! We made a scarecrow based on a fairytale with a pie. We put a lot of work into him; former team member Elizabeth named him Travis, and she has since taken him home for the rest of her family to enjoy.
Another way to celebrate is by sharing my all-time favorite pie flavors. Of course at the top of the list is Brown Sugar Chess, everyone's favorite. Next is Rustic Peach Crumble, only available during peach season. You have to have it "all the way" (warm with ice cream on top). And in third place is Chocolate Peppermint Cream, which is only available during the winter season. It's the perfect festive flavor! These flavors are all my favorites, but there are so many more that are just to die for! Choosing a flavor can be hard, but that's okay, that's why we're here.
Pie Bar Marietta faced a few challenges here and there but we were able to get through them with ease, and meet some great people along the way!
Pie Bar Marietta has had a wonderful two years, and the one year I've been here has been fantastic! I love Pie Bar, and I'm glad all of you have been with us for so long. I hope y'all continue to enjoy our pie and shop and see ya next time!

It's that time of year! The days where kids will learn and parents can chill (a.k.a. running errands until it's time to pick up the kiddos) have officially begun. We all looooove (cue dramatic sigh) taking the kids' back-to-school shopping, for sure, but sometimes the same routine every year gets boring. Here are a few ways to spice up that back-to-school shopping this year!
Everyone loves a lil' bit of thrifting! For the older kids, take them to a thrift shop to find stylish clothes, especially for the upcoming chilly fall and winter! My personal favorite thrift shops are Park Avenue Thrift, Goodwill, and Ecologie. Park Avenue Thrift is a small thrift shop in Woodstock that highlights clothes that fit the upcoming season! They are also super affordable. Goodwill is always a classic. You can find anything from clothes to books to even a brand new desk for your schoolwork! They are also super affordable, especially for the conditions of the items. One of the best thrift shops around is Ecologie, located in Kennesaw. They are all vintage, and they even buy used clothes and resell them. They have a lot of name-brand clothing as well, and something for every aesthetic! Thrifting is my favorite hobby (a budget-friendly hobby!) and I think everyone should give it a shot!
My personal favorite place to go for school supplies is Target! They always have a great selection of notebooks, pens, pencil cases, and even agendas! Psst, my agenda is from Target, and it can fit six total classes on one day, plus my work schedule! I also found a pencil case that can fit all 30 of my G2 Pilot gel pens (my favorite pens, of course). They also have classics, like Bic mechanical pencils and Five Star notebooks with multiple subject sections. Target is a must for school shopping!
I have to say, if I love anything, it's sticker-covered school supplies. I have a Macbook, and I bought a new case just because my old one was already covered in stickers. I even have a Pie Bar sticker on it (gotta represent!). You can buy stickers from almost anywhere! My favorite places are local shops with logo stickers at the counter or Redbubble. I also love buying from Instagram artists. Redbubble has some really funny stickers, fit for almost any type of humor! Mine is very niche; I like memes about American suburban wildlife and jokes about my bad driving. Overall, stickers make everything just a little bit more fun.
When you finish your day of school shopping, stop by Pie Bar for your end-of-day treat! This month, for our Inspired Pie Series, we have Baked Lemon Meringue! It's the perfect flavor to lead us into fall (if we ever even get fall; it's so hot), and it's the best mix of sweet and tart. We also have a whole case full of other flavors, so whichever pie you get, we hope it ends your day right! Have a great school year!

The Lyric Theater will be putting on Guys and Dolls from August 25th to September 4th. Set in Times Square during the 1930s, Guys and Dolls is about a couple of gamblers in the city and the women who love them! Filled with loveable troublemakers and entertaining schemes, this play has been a fan favorite on Broadway for 70 years and is a multiple Tony award-winner. This performance will be sure to impress any musical theater fan! Enjoy a night out to the theater with Guys and Dolls!
For more information and tickets you can click right here!
If live music is more your thing, the Square will be continuing its Glover Park Concert Series this August. The Brotherhood, a Doobies Tribute band will be performing at 8 pm on the 26th. The outdoor concerts in the Square are always a good time! Come with your family or go out for date night, it's a great activity for all ages. With the concert being in Glover Park, there are plenty of options for dinner in the Square before the concert (and dessert after)! The concert is free and open to the public, but if you're looking to reserve a front-row table you can visit the Marietta website by clicking right here!
These are just a few of the exciting events happening in the Square this month. There's always something fun going on in Marietta, so make sure you visit and bring your friends and family! Oh and don't forget to stop by Pie Bar and say hi!
